Better Chitwan, a social organization active in Chitwan, has distributed scholarships to two students in the first phase today under the ‘100 Students Scholarship Program’. The organization has been distributing scholarships to 100 students who are deprived of basic education due to poor economic condition.
Scholarships have been distributed to Namita Praja and Binisha Praja studying in class 3 and class 5 respectively at Divya Jyoti Basic School in Harnari, Khairhani Municipality. Better Chitwan Chairman Sagar Karki informed that the two students were provided with schooling expenses, lunch expenses, school uniforms, shoes, sweaters, bags, stationery, books, hygiene materials, masks and other essential items.
Asmita Sapkota, coordinator of the education department of the organization, said that Namita and Vinisha, two students who were deprived of basic education for 2 years due to poor financial condition, have resumed their school education through the Better Chitwan Student Scholarship Program. Donald Macleod had made the financial support for 2 students.
Manager of the scholarship program, Bimochan Acharya, informed that they are preparing to distribute scholarships to 16 children studying in Madi Municipality in the second phase of the program that is planned for 10th of January 2021 which is being supported by Kind hearts Raju Regmi, Sadhana Chalise, Pankaj Raj Dhital and Sulav Acharya.
Further, 6 students who had been benefited by a Scholarship Program last year will be benefited this year as well. The Scholarship is sponsored by Dipen Baniya and Jaya Prakash Gyawali.
